Welcome to the Essex 73's Junior Hockey Website

The Essex 73’s have competed in the Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League since 1973. In total, the club has won 16 Great Lakes Junior C League Championships and 6 All-Ontario Junior C titles. Their 6 Schmalz Cup wins and 11 All-Ontario final appearances are both Ontario Junior C records. By all measures, they are the most successful Junior C team in Ontario.

 

The 2012-2013 season is their 40th season.

Rookie Training Camp

The Essex 73's will be holding an all-rookie training camp May 29th and 30th at the Essex Centre Sports Complex. Please contact general manager Scott Miller at scott.miller@essex73s.ca for more information. 

Brentwood Golf

The Essex 73's recently sponsored a hole for the upcoming Brentwood Annual Golf Tournament.

 

The Brentwood Recovery Home is dedicated to providing compassionate care and treatment in a residential setting for people whose primary problem is alcohol and drug abuse. In addition, Brentwood provides vital support programs for their families.

Dunmore to Africa

Essex recently made a financial contribution to the Golden Future"Empowerment Today for a Brighter Tomorrow" program, which veterna forward, Adam Dunmore, is involved wit hthis year.

 

The South Africa project is an outreach project aimed at improving the lives of youth and vulnerable communities in Cape Town, South Africa.

 

Student volunteers, such as Dunmore, travel to impoverished communities promoting entrepreneurship and self-sustainability, and create awareness of government initiatives and business laws.

 

The project also discusses issues including HIV and AIDS, life skills, post-secondary education, and the importance of community engagement.

 

The project was introduced in 2007.

 

Dumore is currently in pre-medical school, and will leave, with approximately 20 others, on April 28th.
